Credits & plans

Everything that generates audio or text is paid for in credits. Your plan gives you a monthly allowance, and top-up packs add more when you need it.

What costs credits

ActionCost
Rendering a take (project line, playground, audition)By length, see below
Draft machine translation1 credit per 10 source characters
Trying a library voiceOne short Lite render, about 40 credits
Previewing studio voices and Acteme SpecialsFree
Cached takes, failed takes, canceled itemsFree (refunded automatically)

How a take is priced

Roughly, one credit is one spoken character on Pro. Precisely, for each take:

  1. Count the spoken characters: the text without vocal tags and backchannels (|mhm|).
  2. Add 10 credits for each vocal tag, since the model renders real audio for it.
  3. Multiply by the model rate: 1× for Pro, 0.7× for Lite. Round up.
  4. Every take costs at least 10 credits.

Takes are priced separately, so three takes of a line cost three times as much.

The render dialog shows the exact total before you confirm, computed with this same formula. As a rule of thumb, 1,000 credits on Pro is a little over a minute of finished dialogue.

Reserve, then settle

When you queue a render, its full cost is reserved from your balance. If your balance is too low, nothing is queued and nothing is charged. As each take finishes, its reservation is settled: rendered takes are charged, and cached, failed and canceled ones are refunded. See Core concepts.

The monthly allowance resets at the start of each billing period; unused allowance doesn't roll over. Upgrade, downgrade or cancel under Plans & billing, which opens the billing portal for invoices and payment details.

Prototype is meant for evaluation, jams and vertical slices and is listed for non-commercial use; Indie and Studio include commercial use. The Terms of Service have the full license.

Top-up packs

Top-ups are one-time purchases on any plan:

PackCreditsPricePer 1,000 credits
pack_s100,000$12$0.120
pack_m500,000$50$0.100
pack_l2,000,000$170$0.085
  • Each pack is valid for 365 days from purchase, with its own expiry date.
  • When several packs are active, the one that expires soonest is spent first.

Spend order

By default, renders use your monthly allowance first and top-ups after it runs out. Under Plans & billing → Spend first, choose Top-up to use top-up credits before the allowance instead, for example to use up a pack that's about to expire.

Low balance

When your total balance drops below 10% of your plan's monthly allowance, you get an email. You can turn this and the other notification emails off in Settings.

Usage and the ledger

Plans & billing shows your balance, usage over time, and the ledger: every grant, reservation, charge, refund and expiry, with the job it belongs to. The Jobs page shows the credits reserved and refunded for each job.
